The problem

You’ve felt this. Every single time.

01

The 15-minute waste

You click the top result. 15 minutes later you realise it was vague, outdated, and sponsored. Back to search.

02

The clickbait trap

Bright thumbnails, screaming titles, all-caps promises. The video itself? A 12-minute filler with one tip stolen from a Reddit comment.

03

The endless retry

Open. Skip. Close. Open. Skip. Close. The algorithm wins, your evening is gone, and you still haven't learned the thing.

The solution

A Quality Score on every result. Before you click.

Search. Score. Sort. The best video is on top before you scroll once.

Quality Score on every video

A 1–10 score built from like ratio, view velocity, and viewer engagement. Visible before you click anything.

One-click re-ranking

Hit Sort by Quality and the best video jumps to the top. No more scrolling, no more guessing.

Clickbait filter

Hide anything below your quality threshold. Goodbye 3-out-of-10 thumbnails screaming for your click.

How it scores

No black box. Here’s exactly how we score.

50% weight

Like / Dislike Ratio

The strongest signal. When people who watched a video rate it highly, that means something. We use real like and dislike data — including restored dislike counts — to build this signal.

30% weight

View Velocity

Views accumulated over time. A video that racks up views quickly relative to its age is resonating with people right now. Not clickbait that peaked early and died.

20% weight

Engagement

How strongly viewers react relative to how many people watched. Likes measured against views — a video that genuinely resonates earns more reaction per view than one that just got pushed by the algorithm.

We deliberately ignore raw view count. Views measure YouTube’s algorithm, not video quality.

Privacy promise

Your searches are yours.
Always.

Your searches stay yours

Everything runs locally in your browser. ClearTube never sees what you search, what you watch, or what you click. Your YouTube activity is completely private.

Minimal data, maximum honesty

We store only your email address and payment status — nothing else. We use Supabase for authentication and secure account management. No tracking, no analytics, no ad profiles.

No behavioural tracking

We don't know what videos you score. We don't know what you watch. The extension's only external call is to the public Return YouTube Dislike API — which carries zero information about you.

Questions

Everything you might be wondering.

No. Scoring happens locally in your browser using data already on the page. Most cards are scored in well under a second and nothing blocks the page from loading.

We use the public Return YouTube Dislike API, which aggregates dislike counts the YouTube UI hides. Cached locally so we don't hammer the service.
